The boys are back in town ...

We are big baseball fans. My husband and I grew up in the 1960's and 1970's loving the Pittsburgh Pirates. Those were the days when the Pirates won World Series.

My girls have grown up in the 1990's and 2000's loving the Pittsburgh Pirates too. But these days the Pirates aren't winning World Series. In fact, they aren't doing much winning at all. It has been 20 years since our beloved team has had a winning season! 20 years! ... that translates to "my girls have never seen the Pirates end the season with a record over .500"! But we love them none the less and every year at this time we are filled with hope that this might be the year.

Today was Opening Day for the 2012 season ... very exciting!

My girls were happy ...

It was another gorgeous spring day ... the city looked beautiful ...

the ballpark was ready ...

we had a great day together ... but the Pirates lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 1-0.

Yep ... today was the beginning of another season!

  2. Looks like a great family outing. I took my mom to UPMC three times, the first with one wrong turn landed us somewhere around the zoo, in the snow, late at night, after a drive on a lonely wooded road. Three hours later we found the hospital. The second time only took two hours. If I went downtown or to a game, I probably would be driving for days. Glad you had a nice day!
