Lazy Days of Summer ....

That's the way I like summer. Maybe not so much "lazy" as relaxed ... carefree ... easy ... a little laid back. And that just about sums up what we've been. There's been plenty of activities but we're enjoying the girls being home and our daily schedule (well at least mine and the girls' schedule) being a little less structured and a little more loosey-goosey!

Evenings on the patio with a glass of wine listening to the girls share their funny stories and talk about their plans (immediate and long-term!) for the future is pure heaven for my husband and me. I hope they always remain as close as they are now. In two weeks we'll be taking them both to college. But today we're not going to dwell on that. In fact, for the next two weeks of "todays" we're not dwelling on that ... instead we plan to soak up every ounce of them. I'm grateful they still indulge us!

I've been doing little bits of stitching ... some just about every day, but no marathon sessions! Miss Sabrina ... the lovely and elegant Miss Sabrina ... has been getting most of my attention. She's been fun and I'm pushing to get her completed as quickly as possible. I'm about ready to start working on her gown, so I think that stitching will go a little quicker.

Here's how she's looking ....

Because "Sabrina" has been getting most of the stitching time, the "Big and Beautiful Ann Dale" has not had much progress since my last post. In fact, I didn't even take a new picture of her. I'll get back to her and share a picture next time!

That's about it for now. We're off for an afternoon full of girly-ness ... lunch, pedicures, and I suppose a trip to the grocery store for dinner preparations. Yes, I know, we have the life!

Thanks for stopping by ... hope everyone enjoys this last month of the lazy days of summer!

  6. Big changes are ahead with your soon-to-be empty-nest, Lanie... It is quite an adjustment, but there is happiness along with the sadness. I know you're so proud of your daughters and are really looking forward to all the new experiences that they'll enjoy in college this coming semester. Enjoy these days before they leave for school.

Sabrina is so elegant looking--sure wish I had a long neck like hers :)
