Happy May Day!

Hello stitching buddies!

Another beautiful day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with several more scheduled straight through this weekend. How did we get so lucky?!

And ..... playoff hockey starts in Pittsburgh tonight ... GO PENS!!! Just heard on the news that Sidney Crosby still not cleared by his doctors to play ... but hopefully he'll be back in the line up soon.

Now on to stitching news! I've continued to work on Sarah Stuart for the Scarlet Letter Year.

I truly am loving her! I'm even becoming comfortable with those long-dreaded freehand stem stitches. I have already completed tree #1 to the left of the house and have started on tree #2.

Not too bad ... Miss Sarah's trees were a little quirky so that takes some of the pressure off to be perfect! After the second tree is completed, I feel I'll be on the home stretch. Even though I have thoroughly enjoyed stitching her, I'm getting antsy to start something new!

I've spent most of today making some of the girls' favorite treats to send off in a finals week care package. In two weeks they will both be home for the summer ... and that, my friends, makes me a very happy mama!

Well I must run to the post office before it closes. Thank you, as always, for taking the time to stop by.

Until next time ....

God Bless,
Lanie xxoo

  2. Oh, she's just lovely! I particularly like the brick house. And I know you haven't finished stitching the fill-in in the top window, but from here, it looks like it's an open window to the spring breeze.

  6. Hi, Lanie,
Sarah is just absolutely gorgeous!! The free-hand trees that you did are just perfect! If I stitch this sampler, I would be happy if my stitches were half as nice as yours! What linen are you using? and silk or DMC? Sidney Crosby sounds familiar, didn't he make a big winning shot in the Olympics??
