Where does the time go? ...

Busy, busy, busy ... that's been the month of May in our house. Our girls are moved back home for the summer ... yay! ... and schedules are now full with summer internships, part-time jobs, catching up with friends ... I am a happy mama!

Jill and Kelly both attend the same university and are both involved with one of the university's dance troupes.  They stage a dance showcase at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters. These showcases are widely supported by the students at the university and alot of fun! The dance troupe operates on a shoestring budget and the dancers are responsible for putting everything together for the show from selecting and cutting the music, to the advertising, to inviting other performance groups to participate, lighting, choreography, pulling costumes together from wherever they can, etc. etc. and they do a fantastic job!

Here's a photo of our girls after the show a few weeks ago ...

Look how happy they are!! My husband and I were happy we were able to attend! Thank you, girls, for entertaining your parents!

My stitching time is suffering a wee bit. I'm still working exclusively on Sarah Stuart from the Scarlet Letter. It's been a little while since I devoted all my stitching time to just one project, and you know what? ... it's paying off! I am making slow but steady progress on Miss Sarah and might even have her finished next month ... fingers crossed!

Here's a photo of how she looks today ...

I really have enjoyed Miss Sarah and have even overcome my anxiety of the free hand stem stitch. Certainly not an expert and some days I have more redo's than progress but I will no longer avoid stitching a sampler because it includes stem stitches! I may have mentioned that in my last post, but I'm saying it again ... I am no longer fearing the stem stitch!!!

So I'm hoping the next time we chat, I will have a completed Sarah Stuart to share with you!

Until then, thank you for stopping by ... I love hearing from you!

Have a wonderful weekend!

God Bless,
Lanie   xxoo

  3. Hi, Lanie,
What lovely young ladies your daughter's are...how close are they in age? It is so nice that they are both interested in dancing. I'm sure you will have a wonderful summer with them home, we can forgive you not stitching much! Your sampler is beautiful, every time I see it I want to get out my chart and start it!
    Hugs,
