October was a big month for us ... my husband and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary! Unbelievable ... seems like just yesterday when we said "I Do"!
Our daughters were home from college for Fall Break the weekend before our anniversary ... first time they have been home since leaving in August. So it was wonderful spending a few great days with them. I cooked and baked and loaded them up with some of their favorite treats to take back to college.
And then as the girls left to fly back to school, my husband and I flew to Savannah, Georgia to spend a few days celebrating our anniversay. I have always wanted to visit Savannah ... well at least ever since the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"! And the city did not disappoint. For those who have had the pleasure, you know what I mean ... truly a delight!
We stayed at a lovely Bed & Breakfast, took a 3 hour walking tour of the city led by a charming Southern gentleman whose passion for Savannah was endless, strolled through the dozens of beautiful parks and squares, explored the river walk which was originally the heart of the cotton industry and still has the cobblestones that were imported from England, ate way too much delicious food, and basically soaked up the beauty and magic of Savannah!
I could go on and on ... but we'll leave it at that!Stitching time has been a little bit limited, but I'm getting close to a finish with Marion Robertson. Here is how she looks as of the end of October .... a little more progress since my last post.
I'm hoping for a finish in the next few weeks! We'll see ... Miss Marion has been an enjoyable stitch, but soooo many others are calling loudly ... you know how it is!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
Until next time .....
God Bless,
Lanie xxoo

ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! That's so great that you got to see your girls, and then take off for a special anniversary trip by your lonesomes. What a beautiful city -- never been there. Love your Marion! You are so close to finishing, as you said. Can't wait to see!

ReplyDeleteMarion is gorgeous, such pretty colors.
Congratulations on your 25th! Looks like a beautiful tour with perfect weather. Great sampler.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to you and your husband! Savannah is a beautiful town, so glad you had the chance to visit. Don't worry, with longer nights and cooler weather closing in, I'm sure your stitching time will increase soon.
ReplyDeleteHappy 25th Anniversary, Lanie!! So glad you were able to visit Savannah--that is definitely on my list. We went to Charleston for our 30th anniversary six years ago and had hoped to make it to Savannah at the same time, but it didn't work out...
ReplyDeleteLovely progress on your sampler!
